[Ryan] Every time I get Innovation to the table, I find myself enjoying it more and more. This time, I was able to try out the Cities of Destiny expansion for the first time, and we had a great time with it! On the surface, the city cards seem subtle with their lack of dogma effects and just simple one-time effects when you play them, but some really interesting twists begin to reveal themselves. The flags, which count as an achievement as long as you have more visible cards of that color, proved to be crucial in our game, and we uncovered some clever ways to tuck cards to boost their count without covering the flags themselves. Such a fascinating game where no two games are alike!

[Daniel] And we are back… another campaign in Arkham Horror: The Card Game. This time we were jumping into The Path to Carcosa, and this opening scenario might have been our most fun game of AH:TCG yet. This was the first time that we customized our decks going into a campaign using a combination of deck drafting through the Arkham Cards app along with some final tuning at the end. What resulted were some really unique decks, including one where I have all sorts of cards that thrive off of me failing skill checks. I feel like we are entering into the next layer of enjoyment of this game - exploring all the creative deck combinations out there. I am so excited to see where this goes from here!

[Ryan] For the second year in a row, I played some Memorial Day Fingagolf! We played a 9-hole game with four players, and it just reliably delivers a great experience. Captures so many interesting aspects of real golf: knowing when to play it safe versus taking a risk, the pressure of an important shot, and the agony of shanking the ball out of bounds. Love the kind of “golf event” this game enables me to bring to a social gathering.

[Daniel] I'll be honest. I'm a little shocked Carpe Diem is still in my collection. It's not a new game, the artwork is bland, and with so many new games coming in, I've wondered more than once if it still deserves a spot on the shelf. And yet, my wife and I pulled it out again after several years away, and we were reminded pretty quickly why it's still here. Underneath the dull exterior is a game with core mechanics that are just a ton of fun. The puzzle on your personal board is wonderfully tight, and every turn carries real weight as you draft tiles and try to make everything fit. Crunchy, satisfying, and apparently not leaving anytime soon.

[Ryan] After playing Heat: Pedal to the Metal 4 times in 2025, I managed to play it 5 times in just four days during May! This included my first experience with the Championship System, which is an amazing way to string races together into a more epic experience with a nice sense of progression. For the final race, I even acquired the new Legends expansion, which makes the “bot” racers even more dynamic and interesting, making an amazing system even better. This feels like an evergreen game in my collection that I’ll never tire of, and the addition of the Championship System and new Legends expansion may push it even further up my all-time list of favorites!
